Africa's second-highest mountain — glaciers, moorland and giant lobelia, climbed over four to six days without technical gear.
Mount Kenya is the country's namesake and its water tower — a glaciated volcano ringed by dense forest and high moorland. You do not need to summit to feel it: the lower forest holds elephant, buffalo and rare bongo, while the moorland above is a strange, beautiful world of giant lobelias and groundsel.
We offer the mountain two ways — gentle forest lodges and day walks, or the Chogoria route for those who want to trek toward the peaks. Either way it is a cool, green change of altitude between the plains and the coast.
